Bunker Labs PHL will once again celebrate a summer of networking by hosting our second annual VSO Beer Garden event on June 4th from 5:30-8:00pm at the PHS Pop Up Gardens in University City.
This Bunker Brews meetup aims to unite the veteran service organizations (VSOs) in Philadelphia, and collectively share their missions with the Philly military connected community. With the generous support of Comcast, Bunker Labs will host Veteran Service Organizations (VSOs) from the Philly area, who will exhibit on site at the beer garden. Companies exhibiting include:
Comcast Military & Veteran Affairs: Whether you’re a member of the military community beginning your civilian career, a veteran entrepreneur accelerating your business, a military spouse, or an organization working on behalf of local military initiatives, Comcast welcomes you to join them in supporting those who have dedicated their lives to service.
FourBlock: FourBlock is re-imagining career readiness for a new generation of veterans. They go beyond traditional transition programs and support veterans in discovering their new calling, helping veterans land jobs and equip them to develop careers and achieve their potential.
Greater Philadelphia Veterans Network (GPVN): GPVN is building an ecosystem of successful veteran employees, leaders, and veteran owned businesses by providing a number of resources to employers and military veterans.
Our Community Salutes: Our Community Salutes is a national, non-profit organization helping communities recognize, honor and support high school seniors who plan to enlist into the U.S. Armed Services after graduation.
Travis Manion Foundation: The Travis Manion Foundation provides service and leadership expeditions to empower veterans and families of fallen heroes to create the foundation for long-term professional and personal growth.
Team Foster: Team Foster raises money to partner service dogs with tri-state area veterans suffering from combat-related disabilities including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI). They ensure these dogs are obtained, cared for and provided a specialized training team – all at no cost to our veterans.
JDog Junk Removal & Hauling: Operated locally by Veterans and Military family members, JDog Junk Removal & Hauling offers junk removal and hauling services for residential and commercial customers. Local business operators ensure that services are delivered the Military way – with Respect, Integrity, and Trust.
Women Veterans Rock: The Women Veterans ROCK! Advocacy Campaign is a Coalition of Women Veteran Organizations and Women Advocacy Organizations Supporting Women Veterans and Military Families. The campaign’s mission is Engaging and Empowering America’s Women & Girls in Military Families to excel in their post-military/civilian lives.
More VSO’s are being added daily, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled and check our social media pages for updates!
Also new to this year’s event will be the cornhole tournament – winner takes all! By all… we mean bragging rights.
Tickets to the event cost $25 and include three drinks from the bar and free appetizers. A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the Travis Manion Foundation. If you’re interested in meeting more like-minded, action-oriented entrepreneurs in a fun, casual setting, interested in getting involved in the local entrepreneur community, or if you would just like to learn more about companies being created by veterans in our community then join us for a warm summer night of celebration, networking and camaraderie!
